Finally, intrauterine fetal blood transfusions have been utilized to mitigate B19V-induced hydrops fetalis [76]. Prevention of B19V exposure is challenging, as most individuals with B19V are asymptomatic and those that develop symptoms are infectious before clinical manifestation of disease.
