Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don: A review of its ethnobotany, phytochemistry, ethnopharmacology and toxicities
2022, Journal of EthnopharmacologyCitation Excerpt :Most of the qualitative and quantitative HPLC and HPLC-MS methods have been reported which are made up of modification of previously reported analytical methods using C18 column and some time C8 also used with different buffer systems as a mobile phase. All HPLC-MS methods have been reported in positive ionization mode for MIAs (Renaudin 1984, 1985; Naaranlahti et al., 1987; Sim et al., 1994; Chu et al., 1997; Uniyal et al., 2001; Zhao et al., 2001; Choi et al., 2002). Mostly of the qualitative analysis of MIAs has been reported on C18 column for separation with the mobile phase of a combination of acetonitrile and methanol with a buffer like formic acid with isocratic or gradient systems (Renaudin 1984, 1985; Bhadra and VaniShanks, 1993; Moreno-Valenzuela et al., 1998; Rijhwani and Shanks, 1998; Lee and Shuler, 2000; El-Sayed et al., 2004).
Microalgal Biorefinery: A Sustainable Technology Toward Circular Bioeconomy and Microalgal Biomass Valorization
2021, Biomass, Biofuels, Biochemicals: Circular Bioeconomy-Current Developments and Future OutlookModel based fed batch cultivation and elicitation for the overproduction of ajmalicine from hairy roots of Catharanthus roseus
2015, Biochemical Engineering JournalCitation Excerpt :The ajmalicine concentration increased in the first 48 h of elicitor treatment to 78.3 mg/l (15.9 ± 1.3 mg/g dry weight) which decreased with additional incubation to 38.5 mg/l (9.93 ± 0.84 mg/g dry weight) at 96 h (day 34) (Fig. 7). This was an approximately 2 fold increase, significantly higher than earlier individual elicitation studies available in literature for ajmalicine synthesis from hairy root cultures [17,42,43]. The biomass showed a slight decrease in the elicited cultures and reached a value of 3.88 g/l at 96 h (day 34).
