Abstract

An integral equation for the spinless nucleon-nucleus vertex function is developed in a scalar boson-exchange approximation. A method to incorporate a nonrelativistically developed nucleon-nucleus potential into the relativistic integral equation is also studied. Numerical solutions are displayed via the nuclear momentum distribution function. A new explanation for the EMC effect which is complementary to the x-rescaling model is also given.
