Abstract

A large set of classical SU (2) gauge fields is found for which the massless-fermion propagator does exist and breaks chiral symmetry. A representative of this set is a condensate of magnetic monopole-antimonopole pairs. These fields might generate a flavor-independent spontaneous breakdown of both abelian and non-abelian chiral symmetry.
