[47] analyzed the amino acid content of 16 microalgae and showed that the content of sulfur amino acids, histidine and tryptophan are generally the lowest of all amino acids. However, similar relative frequency does not mean that the total amino acid content is equivalent among different species, as absolute amino acid quantities are subject to great variability, even within the same species, under different experimental conditions [48]. Interestingly, our analysis also found taurine in the biomass of G. sulphuraria (Table 3).
