Tautomeric phytosterols from Vernonia amygdalina Delile and their anti-cervical cancer activity
2022, Bioorganic ChemistryCitation Excerpt :The biogenetically related compounds 2–12 were determined to be the same as that of 1, 5 and 6 due to their identical ECD curves. The structures of known compounds, Vernonioside B2 aglycone (13) [25], VE-2 (14) [26], vernoamyoside E (15) [27], VE-1 (16) [28] and vernoniacum B (17) [29] were elucidated by comparing their NMR data to the reported literatures. Except for compound 1 and 3, the tautomerism phenomenon were also occurred in compounds 4–6, 12–17 on account of the hemiacetal fragments presented at C-21 or C-28.
Stigmastane-type steroid saponins from the leaves of Vernonia amygdalina Del
2021, FitoterapiaCitation Excerpt :The 1H NMR spectrum showed the characteristic signal of an anomeric proton as a doublet at δH 4.41 (H-1′). The large coupling constant (J = 7.8 Hz) between H-1′ and H-2′ supported the beta-linkage of the sugar moiety [15]. The typical carbon signal δC 100.7 has a correlation of δH 4.41 (1H, d, H-1′), and the HMBC correlation from H-1′ (δH 4.23) to C-3 (δC 76.2) indicated that the β-D glucosyl group was connected to C-3.
