2022, Fluid Phase EquilibriaCitation Excerpt :Determination of reliable values of EACN has been achieved by the so-called “fishtail method” based on the experimental temperature at the X-point and the fish-shaped diagram of well-defined ternary systems of water + oil + CiEj [13]. In recent decades, a considerable amount of research has been done to investigate the phase behavior of the mixtures of water + alkane + non-ionic surfactant [4-17,25-39]. At isotherm condition, these behaviors contain both liquid-liquid equilibria (LLE) and liquid-liquid-liquid equilibria (LLLE), i.e., two-liquid-phase-coexisting envelopes and three-liquid-phase-coexisting tie triangles, respectively, in the triangle phase diagram.
