Abstract

New measurements of the sublimation pressure of HCl have been carried out between 120 K and 150 K. They appear more reliable than previously published results, at least below 140 K. From our results and the heat capacities of Chihara and Inaba,(9) we derive for the molar cohesion energy of HCl at T = 0 a value of −(20222 ± 20) J · mol−1.
