Although several nutrients have been reported to affect intestinal ALP activity [9-17], little is known about the physiologic factors for the regulation of intestinal ALP activity. In previous reports, ingestion of diets containing P or artificially added phosphate decreased ALP activity in the small intestine in rats [16,17].
