Purification and characterization of an immunogenic outer membrane protein of Shigella flexneri 2a
2009, VaccineCitation Excerpt :Bacteria were photographed by using an Olympus AX70 microscope equipped with phase-contrast and epifluorescence illumination, standard FITC filters and a 100× achromatic oil immersion lens. Antiserum was absorbed by the method of Loeb [29]. Mid-log-phase cells of S. flexneri 2a (1.5 × 1011 CFU) were suspended in 0.8 ml of PCM (PBS [pH 7.2] containing 0.5 mM MgCl2 and 0.15 mM CaCl2) at 4 °C.
