Denis J. Carr, M.Sc., Ph.D., F.I. Biol. Was born in England in 1915. He has been Reader in Plant Physiology in Melbourne University; Professor at Queen's University Belfast; and until recently Professor (now Emeritus) of Developmental Biology, Australian National University, Canberra, where he is currently Visiting Fellow in the Department of Environmental Biology. He is Editor of ‘Sydney Parkinson, Artist of Cook's Endeavour Voyage’ (1983) and (with S. G. M. Carr) of ‘People and Plants in Australia’ (1981) and ‘Plants and Man in Australia’ (1981).
