Abstract

Oxyfluorination of palladium powder at 320°C and 60,000 psi yields brown material, O2PdF6, which has a Raman spectrum characteristic of dioxygenyl salts of strongly oxidizing hexafluorides, a magnetic susceptibility similar to O2PtF6, and evolves oxygen and fluorine on gentle heating.
