Abstract

Anderson’s shrew mole (Uropsilus andersoni) is an endemic species of China and only occurs in the province of Sichuan where it is only known from Emei Mountains and adjacent small area. This species has been listed as data deficient (DD) by the IUCN red list of threatened animals and vulnerable (VU) by the red list of China’s vertebrates. The complete mitochondrial genome of the U. andersoni was determined in this study. The mitogenome is a circular molecule of 16,528 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosome RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, one origin of replication on the light-strand (OL) and one control region. The new sequenced complete mitogenome of U. andersoni would provide useful information for application in conservation genetics and evolution for this species.
