Abstract

Based on the carbohydrate chains of tumor-associated ganglioside, polyvalent carbohydrate-protein conjugate 1 was synthesized suitable as a prototype of a cancer vaccine containing ∼400 residues of 3′-(N-acetyl-a-neuraminyl)lactose (3′-sialyllactose) per macromolecular complex of the hemocyanin protein of the Megathura crenulata keyhole limpet. The integrated antitumor effect of neoglycoconjugate 1 in combintion with the cytostatic cyclophosphamide was studied on the C57Bl/6 mice with transplanted melanoma B16/F0 cells.
