Abstract

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/Molybdenum trioxide nano-belts (MoO3NBs) have been fabricated via laser ablation from pure Molybdenum plate immersed in PVA/CMC (70/30 wt.%) solution. Nanocomposite samples were prepared via casting method. PVA/CMC/MoO3NPs composites were exposed to various times of laser ablation. FT-IR measurement illustrated rapidly decreased in the intensity of most peaks after embed of MoO3, these variations were related to the interactions between polymeric blend and MoO3. XRD results approved that nanocomposites samples showed appearance of the characteristic sharp diffraction peaks of MoO3NBs at 2θ = 12.58°, 23.13°, 25.51°, 27.17°, and 38.79° which corresponding the MoO3 monoclinic phase (JCPDS Card No. 05-0508). The direct energy gap values reduces, from 5.82 eV for pure sample to 3.98 eV and 3.56 eV for nanocomposites samples, while the indirect energy gap decrease from 5.18 for pure sample to 3.32 eV and 3.01 eV for nanocomposites samples. The AC conductivity was enhancement after addition the MoO3NBs. The values of the έ and εʺ of the prepared films exhibited increase by increase the ratio of Molybdenum trioxide nano-belts, which because of an enhance in the ion conduction. Obtained results prove the advantages of selecting MoO3NBs as filler to enhance the optical and electrical characterization of polymeric films.
