  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new sesquiterpenoid derivative, 8β,11-dihydroxy-1β,5β-epoxyarbutan-3-one (1), along with 18 known compounds (219), were isolated from the ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Daucus carota. The chemical structure of the new compound was established by means of spectroscopic analysis, including one and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy.
