Zusammenfassung

GRUNDLAGEN: Ovarial-Metastasierung bei Mammakarzinom kommt selten vor. METHODIK: Fallbericht.

Summary

BACKGROUND: Ovarian breast cancer metastasis formation represents a rare condition. METHODS: Case report. RESULTS: We report on a 55-year old female patient with breast carcinoma, with formation of ovarian, omental and peritoneal metastasis 2 years after mastectomy. She was treated with cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemoperfusion (IPHC) with cisplatin. Adjuvant systemic chemotherapy and hormonotherapy were also applied. There was no evidence of recurrence or metastasis over the 40 months of follow-up. This case is interesting since there has been no previously published case treated with IPHC. CONCLUSIONS: Cytoreductive surgery may represent an option for treatment of distant metastasis formation in individual oncologic situations.
