Comment
The authors provide a letter to the editor describing one patient in a minimally conscious state (MCS) of non-traumatic etiology sufficiently treated with amantadine. As the authors point out, amantadine has recently been described in patients with post-traumatic disorders of consciousness (DOC) and not in the treatment of non-traumatic DOC. Even though one may argue that a large post-interventional intracerebral hematoma is also some kind of trauma, in my opinion, publication of the present case is warranted to induce controlled clinical studies.
