Abstract
Hepatic diseases in the context of drug abuse encompass a broad spectrum of alterations. The direct substance-specific damage caused by the commonly consumed illicit drugs in general seems to be low; however, problematic is the concurrent abuse of alcohol or infections in the context of intravenous abuse, which lead to the known hepatic changes. A survey of the main hepatopathies is presented.
