No words; much spoken
So sick; you left us this fall
Grieving; they gave toys.
This Haiku(*) is born of my thoughts after encountering parents who, despite their child laying on her deathbed, expressed the desire to give toys to a critically ill child down the hall.
Notes
Haiku is an unrhymed form of poetry, originally from seventeenth century Japan, consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, respectively, with a “cutting word” and a seasonal reference.
