Zusammenfassung

Pilzinfektionen der Haut und der hautnahen Schleimhäute werden in ihrer Bedeutung oft unterschätzt, obwohl sie in ihrer Zahl und Dauer alle anderen mikrobiellen Infektionen bei Weitem übertreffen und gerade auch im Kindesalter in ihrer Häufigkeit zunehmen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird ein Überblick über die wichtigsten Pilzinfektionen im Kindesalter und ihre dermatologischen Manifestationen gegeben, wobei die Dermatophytosen und Kandidosen besondere Berücksichtigung finden, da Schimmelpilze auch bei immunsupprimierten Kindern kaum jemals zu Hauterscheinungen führen.

Abstract

The clinical relevance of mycotic infections of the skin and mucous membranes is often underestimated, although their number and duration are far greater than for all other microbial infections, and a rising incidence can be observed in childhood. An overview of important mycotic infections and their dermatologic manifestations is given here, with special emphasis on dermatophytoses and candidoses because mould infections only rarely lead to cutaneous lesions, even in immunocompromised children.
