Studies on the lymphocytic subpopulations in acute non-lymphocytic leukemia

Studie über lymphozytäre Subpopulationen bei der akuten nicht-lymphozytären Leukämie

Summary

The amount of T, B, Tγ as well as Tμ cells and the activity of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) in the peripheral blood were studied in 40 cases of acute non-lymphocytic leukemia. The results demonstrated that the T cells decreased and the Tγ cells increased significantly in the acute stage, and both of them were of normal value again in complete remission; while the B cells and Tμ cells decreased in number and the ADCC activity also decreased before and after treatment as compared with the condition in normal individuals. The possible mechanism of these variations is discussed.
