Analysis of PCAC constraints in a dispersive approach to off-mass-shell ππ scattering

Summary

A one-parameter set of ππ amplitudes fulfilling general on-shell constraints is extrapolated off the mass shell of one pion by means of the dispersive method suggested by Basdevant and Hayot. The ability of PCAC to restrict this class of amplitudes is investigated within some given criteria for the smoothness in the off-shell mass dependence. It is found in particular that the requirement of maximal smoothness selects some neighbourhood of Weinberg’s solution (0 ≲a 00 ≲0.4).

Si estrapola un insieme monoparametrico di ampiezze ππ, che soddisfano vincoli generali sullo strato, fuori dello strato di un pione per mezzo di un metodo dispersivo suggerito da Basdevant e Hayot. Si studia la capacità della PCAC di restringere questa classe di ampiezze entro alcuni criteri dati per la regolarità della dipendenza dalle masse fuori strato. Si trova in particolare che la condizione di massima regolarità seleziona un certo intorno della soluzione di Weinberg (0 ≲ a 00 ≲ 0.4).

Однопараметрическая система ππ амплитуд, удовлетворяюших обшим ограничениям на массовой поверхности, зкстраполируется с помошью дисперсион-ного метода, предложенного Басдеваном и Айо. Исследуется воэможность РСАС ограничить зтот класс амплитуд с помошью определенных критериев гладкости эависимости вне массовой поверхности. В частности, получается, что требование максимальной гладкости отбирает некоторую окрестность рещения Вейнберга (0≲а 00 ≲0.4).
