In the first half of the 19th century,Christian Ludwig Landbeck (1807–1890) planned the publication of a “Natural hsitory of all European birds” together withE. F. v. Homeyer andC. v. Schertel. For the developmental history of this work new sources could be found and a delivery for this work could be described for the first time.
