Zusammenfassung

Gaben von Methenolon führen bei NMRI-Mäusen mit Sarkom 180 und bei C3H-Mäusen mit Carcinoma zu einem rascheren Einbau radioaktiv markierten Glycins in das Tumorprotein 6 Std nach Gabe der Aminosäure, der bei den C3H-Tieren statistisch signifikant ist.

Die spezifische Aktivität des Tumorproteins der Kontrolltiere steigt noch bis zur 24. Std an. Wahrscheinlich kommt hierin eine Funktion des Tumors als Eiweißfalle des Organismus zum Ausdruck.

Summary

Small doses of methenolone enhance incorporation of 1-C14-glycine into tumor protein 6 hours after intraperitoneal injection of the radioactive amino acid, according to observations made with NMRI mice bearing sarcoma 180 and with C3H mice bearing a transplantable carcinoma. In C3H mice this enhancement is statistically significant compared with controls.

In control mice specific activity of tumor protein still increases until 24 hours after i.p. application of glycine-1-C14. This may be due to the tumor's functioning as a nitrogen trap.
