Studies on the response of SJL/J mice to infection with the lactate dehydrogenase virus

  • Published:
Archiv für die gesamte Virusforschung Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Infection of SJL/J mice with the lactate dehydrogenase virus resulted in a greater increase in the plasma activities of lactate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase, and isocitrate dehydrogenase than expected from findings with other inbred strains. Evidence is presented to suggest that the differences are due to an exaggerated reduction in the clearance of these enzymes. It is postulated that the data signify a deficiency in the function of the reticuloendothelial system of SJL/J mice.
