Summary
During the production of single cell protein ofMethylomonas sp. using methanol as the sole carbon source in the pilot plant scale, we isolated aBdellovibrio strain from an abnormal fermentation broth. The abnormality of fermentation caused byBdellovibrio was much like phage infection. However, the plaques formed byBdellovibrio enlarged progressively when plated with host.
