Isobar production in high-energy nuclear interactions

Summary

For nucleon-nucleon collisions at a median energy of 5000 GeV, the median fraction of the energy released by the fireball process has been measured asK F =0.25±0.03. Also the total fraction of energy released by the interaction has been determined asK=0.45 +0.05−0.10 ). The significant discrepancy is attributed to the release of energy by the isobar decay process.

Si è misurata inK F =0.25±0.03 la frazione media dell’energia liberata dal processo della fireball per collisioni nucleone-nucleone di energia media di 5000 GeV. Si è anche determinata inK=0.45 +0.05−0.10 la frzione totale di energia liberata dall’interazione. Si attribuisce la significative discrepanza alla liberazione di energia nel processo di decadimento dell’isobaro.
