e + e Production of heavy quarks in the string model

Abstract

The string model of Artru and Mennessier predicts that the fragmentation functions for mesons containing heavy quarks are concentrated near fractional momentumz∼1, with width ∼1/μ where μ is the mass of the heavy quark.
