Virus particles and antigens in experimental Orf scabs

  • Published:
Archiv für die gesamte Virusforschung Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Sequential observations of experimentally induced orf scabs on lambs revealed that complement-fixing antigens, precipitating antigens and virus particles all reached peak levels within one to two weeks. The most sensitive diagnostic technique was the detection of complement-fixing antigen. The next best was visualization of negatively stained virus particles by electron microscopy.
