Nachreaktionen in röntgenbestrahlten wäßrigen Lysinlösungen und anderen aliphatischen Aminosäurelösungen

An after- effect in X- ray irradiated aqueous solutions of Lysin and other aliphatic aminoacids

Summary

Irradiated solutions of aliphatic amino-acids or amines showed an after effect when the irradiated compounds had at least 3 C-atoms in their Carbon-chains and the solutions contained oxygen. During the after-reactions the optical density increased between the wavelength 200 nm and 400 nm. Likewise an increasing fluorescence could be observed with a maximum at 450 nm in its emission-spectrum. Also the refractive index rose.

These results and other investigations show a formation of heterocyclic compounds during the after-reactions. One or more atoms are N-atoms in the yielded ring.
