Abstract

Results of quantitative, two-dimensional photographic photometry of the spectacular 24 April 1984 white-light flare (WLF) are presented, including measurements of optical continuum peak flux, spectrum, and power. The WLF light curve peaks nearly simultaneously with the flare hard x-rays, but precedes the peak soft x-ray thermal emission by several minutes.
