Summary
The FTIR changes in films of amorphous and semicrystalline poly(ethylene-terephthalate), PET, were registrated during uniaxial stretching at small deformations (1%–25%). The accompaning frequency shifts of vibrational bands of benzene ring and glycol residue are analysed. It was shown that the deformation behaviour of the band shifts strongly depends on phase and morphology of polymer sample. High pressure and temperature effects on IR spectra of PET are also discussed.
