Summary
Plants have been regenerated from cultures of potato meristems freeze-preserved in liquid nitrogen (−196°C) for 24 months. The implications and the feasibility of employing cryogenic methods for the long-term conservation, and international exchange of germplasm of potato, and other vegetatively propagated crops are pointed out.
