Abstract

The Shareholder Primacy Model is still dominant in the USA. Although the management of a US corporation is legally required to primarily pursue the best interests of the shareholders, the pursuit of the stakeholders’ interests is legally possible if it also serves the shareholders’ interests. Taking into account conscious consumerism, climate change activism and the ever-increasing number of shareholders and investors demanding the implementation of stakeholder-related policies to generate a long-term value.
