Abstract

When former school teachers transition into working in universities, issues of confused identities, allegiances, power and valued knowledge arise. The intersection of the work of the university and schools opens up both challenges and opportunities for teacher educators, pre-service teachers and supervising teachers in schools. In this chapter, the authors build on the ideas presented in the preceding chapter about collaboration in teacher education and present their own experiences of working collaboratively with the teaching profession as well as an overview of the literature on school-university partnerships.
