Abstract

Garbage monitoring is a severe problem in many cities around the world. Without waste management the environment gets polluted leading to many air borne diseases. Traditional methods of garbage collection is done manually, but this leads to health Hazards. The advent of IoT Technology has led to adopting automatic monitoring of garbage system and its disposal. Several works has been reported using Arduino board connected to GSM module in cities. The present work is carried out wherein automatic monitoring and disposer of Garbage is done using smart bins and proper networking method to inform the municipal corporation authority to dispose garbage from villages. Here we have incorporated a system of collecting waste from the users (villages) by installing smart bins in villages and making use of IoT technology to dispose the garbage. The system also includes a messaging system that educates the users while they drop the garbage into the correct dustbins. The system employs transceivers, smart bins with RFID TAG and the truck information and maintenance system. The present work is a step towards transforming rural people towards urban way of living by exposing them with the knowledge of keeping their surroundings clean and saving them from air borne diseases.
