Symmetry and Physical Properties of Crystals

Abstract

This chapter defines the crystal lattice, which directly expresses the triple periodicity of the crystal, and all the derived notions: reciprocal lattice, crystal systems and Bravais lattices. The final part of the chapter shows how this definition of the crystal lattice is extended for the study of the surface of crystals.
