  • Chapter
  • First Online:
Symmetry and Physical Properties of Crystals

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to introduce crossed effects, in which quantities related to different areas of physics (thermal, mechanical, electrical) are connected through thermodynamics. It then deals with an example which is important through its many diverse applications: piezoelectricity.
