Abstract

On the whole, there are two ways to describe the standard types of word formation: syntagmatically and paradigmatically (cf. Van Marle 1985:9ff. et passim). Figures (1a) and (1b) show two syntagmatic or word-syntactic analyses of the actual English word undeceivable ‘incapable of being deceived’:
