Core Collapse With Rotation And Neutron Star Formation

  • Chapter
Timing Neutron Stars

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 262))

Abstract

Numerical simulations of the collapse of non-rotating and rotating cores of massive stars (M ≥ 8 M ) are presented. After reviewing briefly the underlying physics the numerical results are discussed and possible consequences for neutron star formation are outlined.
