Abstract
The anus can be affected by rare diseases. Most often, they are very common and benign pathologies that occur in this area, but significantly affect the quality of life of patients, up to a high degree of disability. Often the diseases of the anus are misdiagnosed and poorly treated, which in certain circumstances can lead to disastrous consequences. Knowledge of the functional anatomy of this part of the gastrointestinal tract and the spectrum of both benign and malignant changes is indispensable to achieve better results in the treatment of these diseases.
