Zusammenfassung
Das Thema Pharmakotherapie im Alter spannt sich von der Unterbehandlung potenziell heilbarer Erkrankungen, der richtigen Indikationsstellung zur Behandlung bei oftmals multimorbiden Älteren mit kurzer verbleibender Lebenszeit, über die Priorisierung der Diagnosen unter Berücksichtigung der Funktionalität und bestehenden Organeinschränkungen bis zur exakten individuell optimierten Differenzialtherapie unter Beachtung von Interaktionen und Begleiterkrankungen. Eine wesentliche Aufgabe des behandelnden Arztes ist es, die persönlichen Wünsche und das soziale Umfeld zu erfassen, um die Adhärenz zur Verschreibungen hochzuhalten.
