Video Capsule Endoscopy

Abstract

Early detection and removal of precancerous neoplastic lesions are essential to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer deaths. In most cases, colorectal cancers develop from adenomas. Most early carcinomas can be curatively treated, and the 5-year survival rate is up to 90 % [1]. Therefore, early detection of adenoma and carcinoma in the context of screening programs is very important.

The work was first published in 2006 by Springer Medizin Verlag Heidelberg with the following title: Atlas of Video Capsule Endoscopy.
