Genus of bird tapeworms, e.g., A. cuneata (syn. A. sphenoides), is 2–4 mm long and lives in the intestine of chicken and other birds as final hosts and in earthworms as intermediate hosts. It belongs to the family Dilepididae. Humans may become infected occasionally.
