Zusammenfassung

Diese Abhandlung ist ein Beitrag zum laufenden IMO-Projekt (International Metropolitan Observatory). Sie stützt sich auf die Analyse von Variationen in der Wahlbeteiligung und dem Wahlverhalten in den Gemeinden der 42 französischen Metropolregionen mit einer Bevölkerung von über 200.000 Einwohnern. Die französische Statistikbehörde INSEE hat die Metropolregionen – die sogenannten Aires Urbaines – zum ersten Mal 1996 definiert und beschrieben, so dass offizielle statistische Daten zu den Strukturen dieser Regionen das erste Mal anlässlich der letzten Volkszählung im Jahr 1999 produziert und veröffentlicht wurden.
