Abstract
Seutter-Berlage et al (1977) suggested that the excretion of urinary thioethers (UTs) might be a useful indicator of exposure to potential alkylating agents. Elevated thioether excretion has been confirmed for several occupations (Jagun et al 1982; Stock and Priestly 1986) In this study, the validity of UT excretion in some occupational groups was assessed. The advantages and also the limitations of this test were taken into consideration.
