Zusammenfassung

Primäre intrakranielle Tumoren gehen vom Gehirn, den Hirnhäuten (Meningen) und seinen Anhangsgebilden (Hypophyse, Epiphyse) aus. Sie lösen durch Kompression, Infiltration, Ischämie oder Irritation neurologische Symptome aus. Sekundäre Hirntumoren sind Metastasen eines extrazerebralen Primärtumors, dessen Tochterzellen in der Regel hämatogen ins Gehirn gelangen.
