Abstract
For the planning of a presentation you have to make a decision about your lecture format. There are many formats and one has to select the most appropriate. Every type of lecture has his own structure, for instance a scientific lecture is different from an educational lecture. If you are invited to give a personal lecture you have more freedom and options. Your planning should be accordingly. Every lecture should also, next to the medical content, be entertaining. But remember you are not hired to be a stand-up comedian. Lecture timing is crucial, most lecture go wrong because of bad time planning. Going overtime is a flaw. Tell the essence of your message not everything you know. The structure of every lecture should follow the universal speakers law. Preparation is the start for every successful presentation.
