Goden Sun Certification: The National Certification Program for PV Products in China

Abstract

Solar photovoltaic is used widely in China, especially in northwest. It provides clean and reliable distributed power for a variety of applications. By far, there are hundreds of PV components manufactories and system assemblers emerged, but most of them are very small or medium-sized in terms of production and annual sales. Moreover, as lack of available supervision mechanism, many manufactories sell/distribute bad quality PV products for benefits given to customers’ unawareness of related knowledge about PV products. As a consequence, more and more customers lose confidence in PV products, which greatly hinders the sound development of China’s PV market. On the other hand, international certification scheme is well developed. If China’s PV module manufactories want to sell their products to foreign markets, such as Europe and America, relevant certificates are always needed, which cost much money and time for Chinese manufactories. Therefore, China General Certification Center, committed by Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China, established national certification scheme for PV products. We named it as Golden Sun certification.
